World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Monthly, through the World Vision Storehouse, Southside is provided with material donations that allow us to serve the fundamental needs of our clients. This includes toiletries, clothing, shoes, diapers and household items. At Christmas they provide gifts and toys for the children.

The mission of Here’s Life Inner City, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ is to serve and mobilize the Church (and Ministries) to live out God’s heart for the poor, so all can grow in Christ and spiritually multiply. Through our partnership with HLIC, we are able to offer Thanksgiving meals, Christmas care packages, Homeless care kits, Easter bags and powerpacks (backpacks with school supplies) to our clients, free of charge. In addition, HLIC offers extensive training tools and ministry based support to our staff and volunteers.

Bridging was founded on the simple concept that community resources should be shared with those in need.  Their purpose is to “bridge the gap” between the “haves” and the “have nots.”  Their mission is to provide the economically disadvantaged with a one-time gift of quality furniture and household items which helps to stabilize and improve their lives while effectively using community resources.  Through a network of over 200 social service agencies (i.e., Southside Life Care Center), eligible clients are able to come to their 10,000 square foot warehouse for a once-in-a-lifetime shopping experience. Program services and community needs continue to climb across the state. In 2008, Bridging served over 17,000 individuals.

Through a partnership with Fairview Riverside Women’s Clinic and Fairview Riverside Medical Center, Southside is fortunate to be able to provide top notch prenatal care right in the heart of South Minneapolis. Because something as simple as lack of transportation can be the defining factor in whether or not they seek medical care, having our clinic easily accessible on bus line 5 dramatically increases the probability of a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Fairview Riverside Women’s Clinic provides the CNM (Certified Nurse Midwife), while we provide the Patient Education Nurses, Lab Technicians and Ultrasound Technicians.
