We invite you to join our community of love supporting a culture of life in South Minneapolis! Come and tour Southside and see if God tugs at your heart to get involved in one of the following ways:
Cribs and Carpenters - We currently have a long waiting list for cribs.
- Are you handy? We need a few more handymen / carpenters to help refurbish donated cribs.
- Are you outgoing? Would you be willing to find new sources of donated cribs? Talk to neighbors, friends, and co-workers . . . put a notice in your church bulletin . . . visit thrift stores and consignment shops in your area who may receive cribs they don’t want.
- Do you have a van or truck? Would you be willing to pick up cribs and deliver them to Southside?
Event Helpers- Organize a Baby Shower, Laugh for Life evening, or Baby Bottle Project at your church. Or help with one of our three major events - the Walk for Life, Fashion Show, or Golf Benefit. Contact Kimberly at kimberlysslcc@aol.com to volunteer.
Mentors - Meet one-on-one with clients in our Mentoring/Earn While You Learn Program. Work directly with women who are pregnant or have young children in setting their personal life goals and taking steps toward achieving those goals. Our clients would be expected to meet with our volunteer mentors about two times per month. Training and scheduling provided by Southside.

- Hand out or e-mail book drive fliers to everyone you know in the area!
- Organize a book drive in your neighborhood, workplace, dorm, or church.
Donation Sorters
- Sort and clean our donated baby equipment.
- Keep our “Client Closet” stocked and straightened.
- Stock new donated baby clothes and items in our Baby Boutique.
- Package diapers and wipes.
- Fill our large pink or blue shopping bags with donated crib bedding to give out with our refurbished cribs.
Southside Life Care Center Board of Directors
Shape and promote Southside’s ministry. To explore board membership, please email Kimberly at kimberlysslcc@aol.com. Come for a tour, visit a Tuesday evening board meeting and see if God is nudging you to join us.
Prayer Partners
- Receive e-mail prayer alerts and pray for specific Southside needs.
- Pray on site with insight! Gather at Southside to pray for our ministry. Experience God’s presence as we join together to ask for His protection and power as we fight for a culture of Life in our community and country.
